General Information

Measurement and monitoring of all 3G, HD, SD and Composite signals. Embedded, AES audio External reference included. Uses Patented “all digital” processing. Test signal generation and EYE pattern modules are also available.

The DigiScope DS9000 is a 1U rack mountable, low power device with DVI and XVGA outputs (1024 x 768 @ 60Hz via a DVI-I socket) for use on external displays which is an ideal alternative to, and/or replacement for broadcast measuring devices in production or engineering environments. Especially where repetitive monitoring or measurements need to be made.

Suitable for all operatonal and front line maintenace areas - indeed anywhere serial digital signals or multi-format measurement is required.

The DS9000 takes FlexiScope modules, so it is easy for the user to configure or upgrade at any time. The DS9000 unit is capable of 3G, HD SDI, SD SDI and composite video signals and audio in its embedded, or AES/EBU formats. For analysis, measurement and monitoring. A front panle headphone socket provides a decoded audio output.

There are two versions the DS9000 "A" and DS9000 "B" to choose from. The "A" variant is full specification with full absolute care warranty available, the "B" variant has a reduced functionality set which comes in at a lower price than the "A". The "B" version has no tiled display, cursors, error downloads or gamut and has 1 year warranty as standard, extendable to 2 years upon registration.

FAQs

We hope some of the frequently asked question we  have had will provide assistance, if not please contact us directly or go through your supplier.

Q. Can I output to a standard HD or SD monitor?
A. Yes with the optional output module.

Q. What Modules are compatible with the DS9000?
A. All can be used from the FlexiScope range

Q. How do I gt the Generator to work I cannot find the correct menu?
A. The generator output is only available if Module 03 is fitted

Q. What are the 3 BNCs for on a module?
A. The HD/SD serial input connection is made to the centre gold plated BNC socket, which is internally terminated at 75 ohms. The left BNC provides an equalised output of the input feed. The right BNC allows an external timing reference or AES audio signal to be input

Q. Why are the BNCs gold on module 01 and 03?
A. The BNCs used on the module are specially designed for the high bandwidth of the HD SDI signal

Q. Can the Modules be used stand alone?
A. The module can only be used in Hamlet modular instruments like the DigiScope DS9000

Q. What is the weight of the DS9000?
A .3Kg

Q .What is the dimensions of the DS9000?
A .490mm x 250mm x 45mm.

Q. Can the DS9000 be rackmounted?
A. Yes the DS9000 is designed to be rack mounted

Q. Can the DS9000 be remotely controlled from a PC?
A. Yes see the application note in the documentation section

Q. Can the DS9000 be remotely controlled from a PC across a network?
A. Yes see the application note in the documentation section

Q. Can the DS9000 be remotely controlled from a PC across a network?
A. Yes see the application note in the documentation section

Q. How many "error count" errors can we store on board?
A. It can store about 980 error logs.

Q. Can the error count be dumped onto a USB memory stick?
A. The USB port currently will communicate with a computer to accumulate
error data.

Q. No video displayed?
A. If there is no video signal connected to the selected input, the screen will display the message “No Signal”.

Q. Unusual display?
A. The unit may be set to a non-standard mode. Reset the unit as follows. Select the Data Icon [0101], then the Factory settings Icon [FCT].
